Apple's WWDC 2013 Event Recap- iOS, Pro and Air-y goodness

Apple just had their Event where they announced the throughly redesigned iOS 7, new MacBook Airs and Mac Pros. Here is a simple point by point summary of all the intresting developments announced today. I will also be uploading a video with a more opinionated view on it. Enjoy!

How much of an Apple Fanboy are you? [INFOGRAPHIC]

There are many different types of Apple fans. Young and old, the obsessed and the ones who just enjoy their products. But what does it take to call yourself a fanboy? I always thought it was anyone that blindly followed Apple and hated all other products. But now I define it as an appreciation for Apple and their high quality of engineering and ecosystem. So I'm happy to call myself one, but if you watch any of my older videos you will see me wholeheartedly rejecting being called a fanboy. 

Some people use the Apple "fanboy" stereotype in arguments as if to make their contender's opinion null and void but if anything it just proves that you have an appreciation for the product that they do not understand, and if their opinion is that strong against Apple then they are probably fanboys of the opposite side (Android) or just aren't very tech savvy.

iPad Mini Unboxings & Reviews Are In

Apple has begun shipping on the 7 inch tablet and some lucky Apple fans have got their iPad minis earlier than expected, mostly blunders by resellers for which are pictured below. 

The tech giant has also sent some early models of the iPad Mini off to some of the big tech sites like The Verge and Engadget for review and they are now in. Mostly they note that the smaller screen takes some time to get used to and the main annoyance is the pixelation compared to the full sized retina iPad.

Apple has just finished it's iPad Mini event to announce the new iPad mini (duh!), new iPad 4, 13" Retina Macbook Pros and new rediculously thin iMacs. It seems Apple want to consolidate it's product releases to September/October now with everything, and I mean all it's devices (except the Mac Pro) being announced now. So without further ado, let's go over the exciting new updates. 

The rumours have finally come true, Apple has released it's mini brother to the iPad to compete with the likes of the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7. It comes with a 720p Facetime Camera, 10 hours of battery life, a 5-megapixel camera, a FaceTime HD front-facing camera for video chat, 4G LTE, 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi and a Lightning port connector. It’s also just 7.22mm thick and sport s a 7.9-inch display with a 1024 x 768 resolution.

It will also come with a 32GB option that will cost $429 and a 64GB model is $529. If you want 4G LTE support, you can expect to pay $459, $559 and $659 for those models, respectively. The iPad mini will be available on November the 2nd and Pre-orders start this Friday (American Time). 

The new iPad Mini's big brother is not left out in the cold with some interesting updates to Apple's 'iPad 4". 

Much to the annoyance of people like me that just bought the iPad 3 7 months ago Apple announced it's new iPad much earlier than usual but don't worry iPad 3 owners, the update isn't earth shattering it has just been updated with a faster A6X processor, a Lightning connector, 4G LTE support for various carriers around the world, including Sprint in the United States (in addition to AT&T and Verizon), and a starting price point at $499 for the Wi-Fi model. The 4G LTE 16GB option will start at $629.

Apples iMacs have finally been updates as well and just looking at the pictures you will be amazed at just how thin they are. And no, no retina dispay yet. One update at a time my dear Apple fan. 

New features include-

The 21.5-inch is going for $1,299, with 2.7GHz i5 with 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM. Shipping November. The 27-inch model costs $1,799, with a 2.9GHz i5, 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD. It ships in December.

Apple has also updated it's MacBook Pro line with a 13" Retina model to be a lower teir for the laptop lineup. 

The device is almost a pound lighter and is 20% thinner than earlier models. It packs a 2560 x 1600-pixel display with a 29% higher contrast ratio and a 75% reflection reduction than earlier models. The device’s features include a MagSafe 2 connector for charging, two Thunderbolt ports, USB 3, a headphone jack, dual-mics, a 2.5GHz Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 8GB of RAM, up to 768GB of flash storage and a seven hour battery.

The entry-level model will cost $1,699 and will ship today.

Yes that's right the Mac Mini has finally been updated, unfortunately still not very "mini" as the name suggests. It's still just as bulky as the last one but is dramatically faster. 

The base model starts off at $599, with 2.5GHz dual-core i5, 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD. Those who use the Mini for a work server, a more powerful model will go for $999, and it will come equipped with a 2.3GHz quad-core i7, 4GB RAM and two 1TB HDDs.

The Mini starts shipping today.
